Dartigalongue Armagnac

Dartigalongue is one of the oldest Armagnac houses, with over 175 years of experience in the production of high-quality Armagnacs. The house was founded in 1838 by Pascal Dartigalongue, and it is still run by the same family today, now in its fifth generation.

Dartigalongue produces a wide range of Armagnacs, from young and fruity to rich and complex, and everything in between. The house has a reputation for using traditional methods and techniques to produce Armagnacs that are both authentic and distinctive. One of the hallmarks of Dartigalongue Armagnacs is their long aging periods, which can range from 15 to over 50 years.

One of the flagship Armagnacs produced by Dartigalongue is the 20-year-old XO. This Armagnac is made from a blend of eaux-de-vie that have been aged for at least 20 years in oak barrels. The result is a complex and balanced Armagnac, with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, and spices. Another popular Armagnac from Dartigalongue is the Hors d'Age, which has been aged for at least 30 years. This Armagnac is a blend of eaux-de-vie from different vintages, resulting in a unique and complex flavor profile.

Dartigalongue's Armagnacs are known for their elegance and finesse. They are often described as being more delicate than their Cognac counterparts, with a softer and more subtle flavor profile. The house uses only locally grown grapes, including Ugni Blanc, Baco, and Folle Blanche, to produce their Armagnacs.
