The Courvoisier Cognac house is located in Jarnac, near the city of Cognac, France.
It was founded in 1835 and received the title of "Official Supplier of the Imperial Court" from Napoleon III in 1843. It has belonged to several financial groups during its history, but has managed to maintain its durability. Legend has it that Napoleon was particularly fond of Courvoisier cognac and took it with him on his travels, hence its nickname of "Napoleon's cognac". Today, Courvoisier is one of the four largest cognac houses in the world and is known for its prestigious bottles such as Courvoisier Napoleon or Josephine.
The brand is also associated with the American Hip Hop culture, in particular through the song "Pass the Courvoisier" by Busta Rhymes and P Diddy.
