1774. Along the Charente River Richard Hennessy found the ideal place to raise his exceptional eaux-de-vie for a long time. It was to be the Founder's cellar. He wrote: "We must leave to time what the present cannot penetrate".

This Richard Hennessy Cognac 2nd Edition is the result of the blending of a hundred or so exceptional old cognacs brought to their peak. The oldest, very rare, date back to the 19th century. Some of them come from grape varieties that have practically disappeared since the destruction of the cognac vineyards by phylloxera in 1880. These cognacs, noted from their birth for their quality, were aged in the Founder's cellar. The perfect conditions of humidity and temperature allow their ageing, day after day, year after year, under the regular control of the cellar master.
