Richard Hennessy – First Edition (1997)
Exceptional Cognac – Baccarat or Saint-Louis Crystal – Restored Collector's Case
This is the first edition of the iconic Richard Hennessy release, launched in 1997, instantly recognizable by several distinctive features:
-
Silk-lined interior,
-
Wooden stopper,
-
Bottles made either by Baccarat or the Cristallerie Saint-Louis,
-
Wave-shaped box opening, a design element that became iconic.
Unique handcrafted restoration
This case has undergone a complete restoration by a master leather craftsman (link below).
The original green vinyl covering and silver trim have been entirely replaced with genuine leather, creating a refined, elegant finish.
It is now a one-of-a-kind piece, blending heritage with contemporary craftsmanship.
Legacy & Origins
In 1774, nine years after founding his Cognac house, Richard Hennessy began setting aside his finest eaux-de-vie for future generations.
“We must let time penetrate what the present cannot,”
wrote Richard Hennessy.
The original cellar, located on the right bank of the Charente river just outside Cognac, was chosen for its ideal aging conditions – stone walls, humidity, and stable temperatures – allowing slow and noble maturation.
Transmission & Excellence
Each generation of the Hennessy family has contributed to the Founder’s Cellar, enriching it with the finest eaux-de-vie selected throughout their lifetime.
Every year, a meticulous tasting ensures their evolution. This delicate process allows the Cellar Master to guide each eau-de-vie to its peak, day by day, year after year.
A Timeless Cognac
Crafted from more than two centuries of expertise, Richard Hennessy is an ode to the founder and a tribute to time itself.
This rare cognac offers an infinite aromatic composition.
Behind its engraved crystal decanter, born in the shadow of eternity, lies a cognac that has now escaped the grasp of time.
