The Martell Cognac Premier Assemblage is a limited edition release crafted to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Martell cognac. Master Blender Benoit Fit meticulously reconstructed this cognac from a recipe dating back to 1879, following an in-depth examination of the house's archives dated February 14, 1879. He faithfully replicated the formula written by his distant predecessor, utilizing spirited eaux-de-vie aged in various types of casks, selected based on their aromatic merit.
The result is a balanced composition of eight cognac crus: Grande and Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, and Bons Bois, reflecting the richness of the Charentais terroirs. In homage to the brand's legacy, the bottle takes the form of an authentic cognac flask reminiscent of those used in the late 19th century, with a faithfully reproduced blue label bearing the house's coat of arms and the signature J. & F. Martell, in memory of Jean and Frédéric Martell, the two sons of the founder who lent their name to the house.
