It was at the Château de Cognac that King Francis I of France was born in 1494. Three centuries later, Baron OTARD established his aging cellars within the thick walls of this historic château, showing remarkable intuition: the constant temperature and the atmosphere—neither too dry nor too humid—that prevail beneath its vaulted ceilings and in its rooms provide ideal and unique aging conditions in Cognac. This is one of the secrets that gives OTARD Cognac—aged exclusively at the Château de Cognac—its distinctive character, which quickly earned it a reputation among connoisseurs.
